Visiting the G-MA in Rochester, NY!

The gang at Denny's on Wednesday morning!

Well, I finally took a full week off for some rest and vacation during the beginning of March. Because of being in India, I missed seeing my relatives at Christmas, and planned a trip after my birthday to rest, which was much needed. The whole week consisted of me staying up late to catch up on CSI and House, sleeping, eating, shopping, more eating, and of course fun with my family. It was the first time I had been in New York since my Grandfather's funeral in June of 05'. With it just being my Grandma and I, it was so different in the house....I had never heard it that quiet before. Usually, you could imagine my family of 10 in the 3 bedroom 1 bath house with basement.....very loud, never quite; also, my grandfather would blare the tv from bad hearing; of course my G-ma would say I filled a lot of the quietness with my big mouth......but that just runs in the family! It was a much needed trip, and I realized how much good food I constantly miss out on: great homemade...true Italian Lasagne and bread, Abbot's Custard Ice Cream, Auntie Anne's Pretzels, juicy filet and shrimp at Salvator's, my fav chicken dish, pumpernickle and turkey bacon, fresh subs from Wegman's, and great breakfast's! I am glad I ran 15 miles that following Saturday......I probably had gained at least five from all that Italian dining we indulged in....but all in all, it was just what the Doctor ordered.

Marathon training continues!

the group after our 12 mile run 3 weeks ago!

Well, most of you know I am training right now for the San Diego, Cali, Rock'n Roll Marathon on June 4th. We have only 6 going, but we train with about 11. Some of us are running other marathons, or just doing it for exercise and to push ourselves.
Last Saturday we finished our 15 mile....that was an awesome run....long, tiring, leg cramping, and long, but it was good. I finished in about 2 hrs and 31 min. I am so glad I have such a great group to run with every week, although the past few weeks I haven't ran as often as I would have liked to because of vacation and work. I know I am going to hear it from them next week for not running at all this week.....I can hear Perry and Jake now..... Anyhow, please continue to keep us in your prayers as we strive to keep focused and continue our training for this run. Pray that we don't get run over by any old people on the roads, or crazy drivers in the morning! Believe me, we have had some close ones! If anyone would like to join us, we meet at the AnMed campus off of Hwy 81 in Anderson at 6am every Tues-Thurs morning. The more the merrier!

Music to check out on Myspace....

From Top to Bottom:

Josh Kelley and band, Florez, and Nathan Angelo......

If you guys ever get a chance to hear them or see them in concert....you should!

Josh Kelley I met for a minute, but the guys on his left and right (Darwood and Donald) are super nice guys who, not only play for Josh, but also for the Carson Daley Show! I had a great time chatting with them about music in general, but you need to check out their music!

Florez has become good friends and clients of mine in the past 6 or 7 months, and they come to the Handlebar every couple of months to play in the town where they originated from. They started out at Furman, and now are based out of Nashville. These guys are super, and love the Lord....which is number one in my book, and have great musical ability, so check them out!

Nathan Angelo (formerly Impellizario) has also become a good friend of mine in the past year. We met through our mutual friend Micah Dalton (also a musician on myspace), started hangin out when he would drop into town, and have been great friends ever since! His sound will remind you a little of Gavin Degraw, but he is his own; another great one to look up!

Also, my new favorite would have to be MUTEMATH! Awesome in concert, and awesome guys!
